THE CHALLENGE
Large-Scale Landscape Information Needed to Stay Precise as the Design Advanced.
At development scale, landscape information progresses through multiple design stages while grading, utilities, interdisciplinary interfaces and stakeholder requirements continue to evolve together.
The controlling project record documents BIM management and model production across all design phases, from Schematic Design through IFC.
The requirement was to preserve a consistent information structure across that progression, so coordination, approvals and construction preparation could continue from a dependable digital base.
THE STRATEGIC REFRAME
From Landscape Modelling to Governed Design Progression
Stradigi positioned BIM management as a design-governance discipline rather than a production layer.
Model development created the technical foundation; the BIM Execution Plan and Common Data Environment structured how information was managed and exchanged; clash detection surfaced utility and interface conditions earlier; and design-stage governance maintained continuity as information progressed toward IFC.
This established a more coherent pathway from evolving design information to construction-ready documentation; making information governance part of design quality at scale.
HOW STRADIGI RESPONDED
Structuring Digital Design Continuity Across the Project Lifecycle
Stradigi structured the engagement around four connected disciplines of landscape BIM and digital design governance.
Landscape BIM Management & Model Maturity
Landscape BIM management and model production were structured across the documented design stages, with supplementary project evidence supporting LOD 200-300 model development and auditing as design maturity increased.
BIM Execution & Information Governance
A BIM Execution Plan established the governance framework for design information, while a Common Data Environment on Autodesk Construction Cloud provided a controlled environment for model exchange, review and coordination.
Utility, Grading & Interface Coordination
The coordinated BIM environment supported earlier visibility of complex utility clashes, model-based site-grading decisions and interdisciplinary coordination across evolving design interfaces.
Stakeholder Review & IFC Readiness
Governed model development and coordinated information supported stakeholder review and sign-off readiness while carrying design information toward accurate, construction-ready IFC documentation.

IMPACT
A Governed Path from Design Development to IFC
The engagement strengthened continuity across design stages, creating a more disciplined basis for coordinating landscape information as the development advanced.
Design Information Continuity
Landscape BIM management maintained a consistent digital information pathway across successive design stages, reducing the risk of fragmentation as model maturity increased.
Earlier Interface Visibility
Complex utility clashes and grading conditions could be identified and coordinated earlier within the digital design environment, before progressing further downstream.
Stakeholder & Construction Readiness
More coordinated models and structured information supported stakeholder review, interdisciplinary alignment and progression toward construction-ready documentation.
WHY IT MATTERS
At Development Scale, Design Governance Becomes a Performance Discipline
Large-scale landscape developments accumulate delivery exposure when information maturity, grading, utilities, coordination and stakeholder requirements advance at different speeds.
Governed BIM creates continuity between those decisions. It allows design information to mature within a structured environment, strengthening the path from developing design through coordinated review and toward construction readiness.
GreenWoods demonstrates how Stradigi combines built-environment expertise and digital implementation to govern design information across a large-scale public-realm environment.
